Supreme Possum Merino blends possum fur and eco merino to give a range of lightweight, warm and hard wearing yarns suitable for either hand knitting or weaving.
This blend is made of 50% NZ Eco Merino, 40% Possum fur and 10% Silk.
The higher the content of possum fur in the blend, the warmer and softer the yarn feels and the more precious your garment will become.
The yarn will not pill and it is one of the warmest known fibres around. Most suitable for hardwearing outdoor use as is regulates temperature and dampness although the yarn is very light-weighted and runs a lot further than comparable yarns of the same thread count!
Once you have finished your garment, you will enjoy it for a very long time as the yarn is made to last for many years!
The higher the content of possum fur, the higher is unfortunately the price. To get the possum fur is a very time demanding task.
Yarns with less than 15-20% of possum fur are of inferior quality and have not the comforting and temperature regulating effects of our yarns. We aim to sell only qualities of the highest standard. You get value for the money!
As this yarn does not prickle on the skin and has an anti-static effect, children and allergy sufferers will benefit most of this cosy and soft touching yarn.
